I was raised in a Christian home, with my parents teaching me about God’s love and about Jesus. I received Christ as my personal Savior when I was four years old. I’ve always prayed and had bible studies with my family, and it has become more and more personal throughout the years. When I was eleven, I prayed for a horse of my own, and God answered my prayer. He has answered many more, too, which has just drawn me closer and closer to Him. But before I opened the door of my heart and life to Jesus Christ and made Him my personal Lord, I was still lacking in something in my life.

When My parents were divorcing, I was about fourteen, it was a very stressful time. There was much fighting in the house, and I got involved in some of it. I cried every week and at one point, every day for two weeks straight. I realized that I needed Jesus’ help, and finally, I cried out to Him and invited Him to be the Lord of my life, the one to direct my steps, and the one I would trust in with all of my heart. Since then I have continued growing in my relationship with God through Him, I’ve continued reading God’s word, praying, fellowshipping with others, and sharing my faith with others, and I have never experienced so much peace, love, and joy in my life! I no longer cried like I did, Christ healed my wounds, and today I have the best relationship I have ever had with both of my parents. Because of Jesus, I have an everlasting peace that never goes away, because I put my trust in Him.

One thing I want to point out is that true Christianity, as far as I have learned, is following Jesus Christ, and is  a relationship; not so much a religion. In other words, relationship is the backbone, the foundation, and the essence and substance of true Christianity; it is having a growing relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. As we continue growing in our love for Jesus and in our relationship with Him, we become more like Him, and God is glorified.

I have given my heart and my life to Jesus, who deserves that and so much more. It has become my life’s passion to love and serve Jesus with all of my heart, and as I do so, to help others grow in their love for Him, too, that God may be glorified.

So, to sum it up, I simply love Jesus and put my trust in Him. I focus on growing in my love for and relationship with Him, and in my love for others. The fuel behind why I choose to follow Christ is love. Jesus said, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him.” (John 14:23). And why do I love Him? Because He loved me first, even while I was still in sin as God’s Words says, “We love, because He first loved us.” (1 John 4:19).
